Exploring the Holy Spirit
1) Think of someone you would call one of your best friends. What makes you best friends?
2) Review:Jesus said it was better if He left. Why?(John 16: 7) The same Jesus said He would reveal things hidden (Matthew 13:35)
3) Read 2 Corinthians 13: 14. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. (NIV)The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. (NKJV)
Communion/fellowship with the Holy Spirit: “Fellowship -companionship,
intimacy sharing together, partnership - close mutual association”
What does fellowship look like?

God declares that He is the Good Shepherd and His sheep hear His voice. Read the following verses, and list what the Holy Spirit reveals to you.
John 10: 3 –5, 11, 14, 27
“You and I cannot understand the truth of God unless the Holy Spirit of God reveals it. He is our Teacher. When He teaches you the Word of God, sit before him and respond to Him. As you pray, watch to see how He uses the Word of God to confirm in your heart a work from God. Watch what He is doing around you in circumstances. The God who is speaking to you as you pray and the God who is speaking to you in the Scriptures is the God who is working around you. God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.”

What is the key to knowing God’s voice? … The key to knowing God’s voice is not a formula. It is not a method you can follow. Knowing God’s voice comes from an intimate love relationship with God. … As God speaks and you respond, you will come to the point that you recognize His voice more and more clearly.”
Relationship is the key to knowing and hearing from God’s voice.

How does this verse give you confidence that you won’t miss what He says?

(Weymouth translation): “ We have been given the opportunity to work for and with the Creator of the heavens and the earth.”

What are some practical things we need to do to partner with the Holy Spirit?
Intimacy goes deep into the thoughts, secrets, and desires of the heart.
“The intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with you, all of you” 2Cor 13:14
Believers tend to want to draw near to Jesus without a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit.
How is this similar to the Pharisees with Jesus? (John 8: 41 –42)

The people who know Jesus best are the ones most intimate with the Holy Spirit
Grieve not the Spirit ( Eph4: 29 –32)
Quench not the Spirit ( I Thess 5: 19 –22)
Blaspheme not the Spirit ( Matt 12: 22 –32)
